Cosmetic Dentistry That Also Improves Oral Function

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge helps bridge a gap of missing teeth. A dental bridge is two fabricated crowns that go on both sides of the gap. Dental bridges are made from alloys, gold, porcelain, or even a combination of materials. A dental bridge can help give you a new smile, bring back your ability to properly speak and chew, help maintain your face shape, prevent remaining teeth from moving positions, and distribute your bite properly by replacing the missing teeth. There are three types of bridges available: traditional, cantilever, and Maryland bonded bridges.

Porcelain Veneers

A porcelain veneer is a wafer-thin and custom-made shell of a tooth-colored material that is meant to cover the front of the teeth to improve overall appearance. The shells that are bonded to the front of the teeth can change their shape, size, length, and color. Veneers can fix teeth that may be discolored, worn down, broken or chipped, misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped or that have gaps. Getting veneers takes about three trips to your dentist. The three trips will include a treatment plan, preparation of the teeth, and bonding the veneers.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal post or frame that is surgically placed into the jawbone below the gums. Once the implant is in place, your dentist can insert replacement teeth. Because an implant is fused to the jawbone, they provide a stable support for the artificial teeth. To receive dental implants, your gums have to be healthy and you have to have proper bone to be able to support the implant. There is also a commitment to keeping the bones healthy. Thorough oral hygiene and visiting the dentist regularly are critical to the long-term success to your dental implants.
